# Update course identity and presentation

> Change a course's name, description, cover, and difficulty, then check where they appear.

Use **General** on an existing course to update its name, description, cover, and difficulty. Each card saves separately.

## Change the name and description

1. In the Admin Panel, open **Courses & Learning Paths**, choose the course, and open **General**.
2. Under **Name and Description**, edit **Name** and **Description**.
3. Select **Save changes** and check the saved values in the course header and public presentation.

The automatic Offer's name or description follows the course change only if you have not edited that Offer field separately. Review [the automatic Offer](/en/courses/configure-the-automatic-course-offer) after renaming the course. The public URL stays the same, as do emails already sent; later messages can use the new name.

## Change the cover or difficulty

Select **Change cover** on **General**, choose an image, and wait for the update confirmation. The cover saves independently of the name and description. Check its crop on the course page and catalog cards.

Choose a value under **Difficulty** to save it immediately. Difficulty describes the audience; it does not create an access prerequisite or change what students can study. Check the saved course card after the change.

**View in platform** keeps your Administrator session. To see the public course page, [use guest view](/en/get-started/verify-public-pages-as-a-visitor). If one card fails to save, reload it before retrying; other cards may already be saved.
